There is a wide variety of free programs (known as "podcatching" software) which can be used to subscribe to any podcast, including Science Audio's. If you already own a portable mp3 player, you may already have podcatching software.
Here are detailed instructions for downloading two of the most popular programs iTunes and Juice. Choose one, download the installation file from the links below, and follow the instructions. (Hint: print out these instructions first.)

iTunes from Apple
Instructions for version 7.6
1. Go here to download the latest version of iTunes.
2. Enter an email address if you wish (or you can just leave it blank), and click on the "Download iTunes Free" button.
3. If prompted, either run the installation file directly from the website OR save the installation file to your computer and then run it manually. Follow the prompts during the installation.
4. After installing iTunes, run the program. Subscribe to a podcast by selecting "Subscribe to Podcast" from the "Advanced" menu,
then typing or pasting the podcast address in the "URL" field (directory of Science Audio podcasts). The address should end with ".xml".
Click "OK", and the downloads begin immediately.
OR
go to the iTunes Store (from the menu on the left)
and enter the title of the podcast in the "Search iTunes Store" field (in the upper right corner), then hit enter on your keyboard.
Then click on the "subscribe" button for the podcast, and the downloads begin immediately.
5. New and archived issues will automatically download into iTunes, or you can check for new issues manually by selecting "Podcasts" from the menu on the left
and clicking the "Refresh" button in the lower right corner.
6. To listen, sync your iPod or other mp3 player, or simply double-click on the track in iTunes.
You're done! Once you subscribe, new issues will automatically download whenever you run the software.
Juice from SourceForge
Instructions for version 2.2
1. Go here to download the latest version of Juice.
2. Click on the button for Windows, Mac, or Linux.
3. If prompted, either run the installation file directly from the website OR save the installation file to your computer and then run it manually. Follow the prompts during the installation.
4. After installing, run the program. Subscribe to a podcast by selecting "Add a Feed" from the "Tools" menu,
then typing or pasting the podcast address in the "URL" field (directory of Science Audio podcasts). Click "Save".
5. New and archived issues will automatically download into Juice whenever you open the program, or you can check for updates manually by selecting the "Subscriptions" tab and clicking on the "Check for new podcasts" button.
6. To listen, sync your mp3 player, or simply click on the green "Play" arrow next to the track in Juice.
You're done! Once you subscribe, new issues will automatically download whenever you run the software.
